JackiE and Her Brother
Jackie and her brother is a Toronto-based music duo formed by siblings Jackie and Mark Andrade. Creating emotional, reflective music, their sound blends elements of dreampop, new wave, and pop-rock, drawing inspiration from artists like Granddaddy, Depeche Mode, and New Order.
Objective
The goal was to create a visually dynamic album cover for Jackie and her brother’s single “Just the Rain” that draws on the song’s nostalgic and emotional themes. The design needed to symbolize the lyrical journey of memories and experiences, particularly those tied to driving across Canada, while creating a cohesive and engaging visual narrative for both streaming platforms and promotional materials.

Design Process
Using a combination of AI tools and Photoshop, I crafted an image symbolizing a journey down memory lane. The rain and road elements connect to lyrics about driving across Canada, weaving together a visual narrative of the places and moments tied to the siblings' shared history. The design channels the reflective tone of the song, inviting listeners to connect with its emotional depth through its imagery.
REFINEMENT
Following the creation of the final song artwork for “Just the Rain,” I explored additional image concepts for marketing purposes. These new renderings leaned into a more surreal and dimensional style, showcasing vibrant, dripping paint-like forms and sculptural elements with a hyperrealistic finish. Unlike the original cover, which focused on the symbolic narrative of rain and roads with a nostalgic flat-layered approach, these concepts push into a 3D-inspired realm.
